My parents are actually in a nice little bubble and we don't expect to get that much. But even 30 mins away, where one of my sisters lives, they expected to get 3 ft.

That's how it works here in the snow belt in Ohio too. Blizzard and white out conditions in one snow band but just a few miles away, the sun could be shining. Hopefully your sister doesn't get a snow band that just spins over her, that's when the snow can really pile up
