That's how it works here in the snow belt in Ohio too. Blizzard and white out conditions in one snow band but just a few miles away, the sun could be shining. Hopefully your sister doesn't get a snow band that just spins over her, that's when the snow can really pile up

Then you get alerts like this in your phone. I don't live in any of the places listed but some might be close
