This is one of my Mom's dogs, Leia. She's Husky/German Shepherd/Rottweiler.

Isa, I say stay with your parents for Thanksgiving. Then go home the next day. You live so far away and who knows when you'll get up to see them again. If upper New York keeps getting this snow all winter, no one will be going anywhere anytime soon! You can always do a Thanksgiving dinner with Diego when you get back

More holidays= more fun.

It's not my place, but personally, after losing my great grandmother I say spend time with those who won't always be there.
Your husband knows you love him, it's obvious, and you'll come home to make him a great Thanksgiving dinner and you'll be spending the rest of your life with him, you'll have Thanksgivings, Christmases, anniversaries, birthdays, and all sorts of other things to celebrate together. Having a delayed meal won't kill anyone. And the kids might think it's fun to celebrate twice😃. Maybe have one traditional, and one nontraditional meal, we did that a lot growing up.

He would be alone, which seems sad to me, but he's a bit of a loner and would say it's an arbitrary holiday and no big deal. He definitely wants us to come home soon because he misses his family but actual Thanksgiving Day itself is no big deal to him.
i tend to agree with Bill, but is flying him to NY to spend thanksgiving with the whole family not an option?
