Which BYC member scares you?

That's quite interesting to me. I've never worked at a job where everyone was paid the same for the same role. Not even food service or piecework kind of gigs. There were always individualized little rewards for people to earn that changed their base pay in some way. In the states, the general mantra is "we don't talk about pay". it's a taboo thing. In Malta and Serbia (where I also have teams), they do talk about it quite often. Cultural and social differences I suppose. I absolutely do not pay all my people equally. Not even people in the same positions. They're all the same within a range, but even in the same roles I have different levels of experience and effort among team members. Folks who bust ass and those with tenure tend to pull higher pay. It isn't a "back room" thing and I do not discourage my teams from talking abut it, they just don't here because that's the social stigma.
I sometimes wonder at the choice to have flat pay rates. I mean, should someone who's been in the role for 10+ years receive the same remuneration as someone who has only been working 3 months?
Discussing pay rates is taboo here too, though I think that's starting to change. I only know what I know because of the positions I've held.

There are pros and cons to both systems I think.
