I’m sure I would hate it, but I think I’d be ok with switching to metric as far as building things. The downside would be having no mental reference whatsoever. If you say something is 12 feet, I know how long that is. I can envision that. If you start rolling out meters and all that nonsense… do you even have anything close to a foot??

It's 30 centimeters. We dinosaurs have to do mental math, like a meter is 3 feet, 3 inches. A kilometer is 0.6 miles. For precise conversions, use 1-inch = 25.4 mm. The hard ones are 1/8" ≈ 3 mm, 1/4" ≈ 6 mm, 1/2" ≈ 13 mm. I just have to memorize those. You can use multiples of 1/32" ≈ 0.8 mm to figure any SAE size. Of course, they rarely match metric exactly, but a sloppy fit is better than no fit.

or ask google :p

I know this is all meant in the spirit of fun, but American egocentralism is one of those things that really pisses me off. If you want to keep believing that the apollo missions didn't rely on the assistance from numerous other counties, especially Canada, you go right ahead. But that kind of shyte mentality is what makes a lot of us want to

And now I'm going to go eat ice-cream and put my phone away for a while.

Only the space program annoys you? I can think of a few hundred other reasons that saw might come in handy...

We can all have drink, laugh and be fine with it and it won’t matter if the bottle that holds it is measured in ounces or liters.

It doesn’t matter to me anyway.

I use the foot conversion for liquids since 1 oz ≈ 30 ml. That way I'll always know what I have left! :D

Who measures drinks 🤷‍♂️..... 50/50 is good enough for me.... the eyeometer is accurate enough
