Actually, that kind of makes sense, since the seeds we eat come from opium poppies, which is also used to make opium. But the amount of opiates in the seeds themselves is minimal, so I think you would have to eat a ton of seeds to actually feel any effect.
Feeling the effect isn't the issue. Testing positive on a sensitive test is. There is a difference. There are false positives. Proving it is hard. Most companies have a zero tolerance. One positive, false or otherwise, and you are history.

I worked a job where I was "randomly" selected for 14 of the 18 months I worked there. Yep, I passed every test they administered. Took my boss asking if this was really random before it stopped. I wanted to know who thought I was doing drugs and what drugs they thought could improve me. Never got answers.

I have worked in hr for several years. We are able to weed out the slackers without drug tests. And since you can get false positives, that doesn't help anybody.

Anyway, not trying to start a debate. Just a very different perspective.

Myself and my boss at the time were “randomly” selected twice a year for several years in a row because we held a commercial license and the other guys in the crews didn’t. He said something and they stopped it, finally. There was never a doubt whether I would pass. It just got old. Same goes for drug tests I guess. I always told my supervisors if I got ran off and knew I was doing my best, then the good Lord has another plan for me.

Cps would use any excuse to take someones kids away, especially in the 80s and 90s. Now there's more restrictions for them which is good, government agencies should be held in check. *I'm not saying they aren't needed, I'm saying their overreach is frequent. When I was little, my friends almost were taken away from their parents because some old bat decided that the kids were playing too loudly in their own yard.
The story was only a couple years ago 😢 but wow that’s horrible!!

Agree. I was looking for a job when I found that one and I'll look for another. Lots of jobs available for people who want to work. DOT has strict requirements and you will be on the random list.

An Army Captain has the option to randomly select a few soldiers. You know who is suspect. They don't make it hard to guess. They were randomly selected for separation after several passes.
