Go Mom!!Con: I spilled my hot espresso shot on my hand, the counter, and down my leg.
Pro: I shoved my daughter out of the way just in time so none splashed on her.

I'm not a very brave person but I swear I grow claws when I think something's going to happen to one of my kids.Go Mom!!
I know that now I am at home it is time to get almost naked. Probably tmi there
Says 103 at the bank. 104 on my Chillers at work. 109 on my truck (though that would have came down if I had to drive further) but it either way it is hot on my side of the river @WallyG74
As you should.I'm not a very brave person but I swear I grow claws when I think something's going to happen to one of my kids.
I was one who made negative comments at first, not gonna lie. Then it hit me how unprepared Texas was for cold and snow. I felt bad for you guys then. If we lost power here in Ohio in the winter, I'd be fine, we use a wood burner for heat, the furnace barely ever turns on. You guys don't have that optionIt's really just the lack of empathy over our different situation which made me say "northerners"
They tend to see our -12°F and laugh while waving their -60°F in our faces.
I'm not saying y'all don't have humidity, and you certainly have it worse in the winter months
We just aren't prepared for that kind of thing, and our humidity is constant.
No I'm not saying y'all are like that at all, it's just all the negative comments and laughing remarks that were constantly being made after that incident.
It was the cold that did itI'm a bit surprised that it was such a disaster situation simply because hurricanes are already a thing for costal Texas. Yes, different kind of weather of course, but some similarities. Power outages, lack of supplies, being stranded, etc. Or am I waaay off course?

We don't have fireplaces or wood burning stoves. We have air conditioners. We die from being too hot or just barely cold.I'm a bit surprised that it was such a disaster situation simply because hurricanes are already a thing for costal Texas. That’s basically here. Trade places?Yucky weather.
I like warm sweaters and PSLs. Gray skies, green grass, ice on the brown trees, cutting winds, scratchy hay, and not a ray of sunshine.
