It can happen with cats as well as dogs and that doesn't make them mean. The one that bit me was a cat that we had already had for a long time. He was on top of another cat beating living hell out of it. It is a long story but the other cat was a family cat too but they were not familiar with each to keep it as short as possible. I was sitting right there and just reached down to stop him. That was not smart, I know
but I really did not expect him to do anything but stop. It was not a mean cat. But, he turned his head and bit me as deep as he could in a split second. I mean it sunk to his gum line. I did not let go and as soon as he saw it was me he just stopped everything completely. So, it worked but with a price. It hurt bad. Mine did not look like yours. Mine was just puncture wounds. But, I am telling you may wake up tomorrow with a "VERY" large hand and in a lot of pain and no use of it whatsoever. As I said in the earlier post I did not get it seen about. I should have. It was a long time before it was right again.
Anyway, it does not make the cat dangerous. **** happens sometimes and quick
But, if it is really bad tomorrow I still advise you to get it looked at
