Just wanted to point out that not everyone with a job gets it off with pay

Only those who work in government jobs will get paid to have the day off, others might take a day off but not get paid. I don't get paid unless I hustle so...

That's how my jobs were until the current one I had. I actually had to work labor day for 4 years and and last year my other job was closed that day, but that meant no one got any pay at all

That's not accurate. I know several myself included that's not government that is off and paid for it. Off tomorrow too with pay. One of those use it or lose it vacation days off.

I was confused by this too. I've never worked some place that didn't offer it as a paid holiday. Even when I was slinging pizzas, whoever got scheduled got double pay. I'm salaried so I get paid regardless, but all of our hourly staff are off with pay today except security, who are getting double OT to watch netflix at the security desk more or less.

I'm salaried so I get paid regardless, but all of our hourly staff are off with pay today except security, who are getting double OT to watch netflix at the security desk more or less.

My first place doesn't do any holiday pay, period. I didn't even know Labor day was a holiday for anything late than post offices and banks until a month or so ago
