I'm shocked. Shocked, I say.

Lol, finally someone who understands!
I don't get why people find it so hard to ignore a dog for 5 to 10 minutes. Especially when I have explicitly asked them to.
My brother had two fat-a$$ed pitbulls that used to p!ss all over if I paid attention to them upon my arrival. He always told me not to acknowledge their existence for a few minutes. I only found it difficult to do because they would jump on me. So I began hip-checking them and sending them crashing to the floor, where they would get sad and calm down. Then I would finally look at them after 15 minutes and tell them that if they were not so gross, they would have been petted immediately. After a few months of that, they stopped getting overly excited when I showed up, so I could pet them right away without them leaving trails everywhere.

I don't get it. I tested the theory out. It was sound and worked. But I guess when they were cute little sausages and looked at you like this, they can't help it.

No, they are made on the grill if done outside, or in a pan if done inside. Barbecue is made in the oven or smoker.
Well, color me enlightened. I always figured that if food was cooked on the grill, it meant we were having a barbecue.

Ooh, jumping dogs are a major pet prevention of mine. Hate that.
When we first got our puppy, she was very mouthy and jumped constantly. Her original owner did 0 training with her so it was a bit of extra work to train out of her.
Your story shows that good consistent effort can make a difference. 👍
