Funny thing is I lived in Michigan for awhile as a kid and my mom still cooked the same way lol
... Alligator? Scorpions? Goats? Mexican sausages (I have forgotten the name that was thrown about)?

Or are we still speaking of frying vegetables?

I have gotten myself lost...
 
Cut your okra up then Sautee it in a non stick pan pulls all the slime out. Do that then drop in buttermilk then batter then buttermilk again then batter then deep fry. I bet it'll be the best fried okra anybody ever eaten. You'll basically have what looks like hush puppies
@bill3607 That👆🏻. That is what I meant when I said strange. I do not recall even seeing buttermilk in stores up here. I have never tasted it, or even smelled it. I do not even know what it is meant for. And what, may I ask, is a hush puppy?
 
I have no idea how others up this way eat, but if looking back through is any indication to normal meals down yonder, then I am apparently a very healthy eater. I find fried foods to be done more rarely up here.

And, if memory serves, someone was speaking of eating frogs/toads? I think I saw someone mention eating a goat? And then there is the whole eating scorpions and spiders topic...

Were these not on here? I admit, I may have misunderstood context in some places.

But really, my previous comment was only a joke. 😂
Everyone on here is not from “down yonder” though. Lol

There is a lot of fried food eating down here though, but very little of it by me. And, I very rarely eat fast food. I tend to eat fairly healthy. Everything in moderation is the key.
