Oh, I forgot about okra! That’s a vegetable I like.

I don’t like anything pickled, but fried okra is awesome if cooked right. I can’t handle boiled. That’s why fried also has to be done right. So it isn’t still slimy in the middle.
Jumping in late, and this is a little off subject but we found a great way to pre cook okra for gumbo. Place sliced okra (frozen or fresh) on a cookie sheet covered by parchment paper and place in the oven until the tops start to brown. It takes the 'slimelynees' out.
I'm a purist on gumbo. I believe it has to have okra but no tomatoes, but that's just me.
I know other people have other opinions and I tolerate them. (grudgingly.) :lau
