I can remember reading in Popular Science back in at least as far back as the 90s about a prototype flying car and how by now we would all be using those. And, of course, we are not.

The thing with me was I never could latch on the flying car part. I mean, would it be an airplane then??

elon musk was asked years ago if building a flying car was on his radar and he said absolutely not.

he said no matter how well built, cars break down - a lot. and if you have flying cars breaking down, then you have cars falling from the sky.

the tech and the motors in his cars are incredible.

the finishes leave some to be desired.

i’m not sure what that has to do with his opinion on flying cars, though.

I remember around the same time the floating skateboard using super conductors as well. I believe the article and prototype was in the same month edition of Popular Science. I think they called that the hoverboard. Is that what you mean, or the hoverboards they have out that don’t actually hover?

At the time I was probably more interested in that than I was a flying car.

Teslas are ok. But if you're really into evs I recommend looking into rivian. They make a mean ev truck. Makes the cyber truck look like a joke.
