Wow, had no idea the reaction I would get with that statement. I MYSELF have raised Cornish x and even on pasture, which is where I raise my birds, they are not as active, they look miserable and they die in the heat because they're too lazy to go to shade or to the water while my other chickens are happily running around. Cornish x grow too fast and their bones and organs don't keep up. My cornish x have died of heart attacks and who knows what else when they absolutely should not have. I have to say that all this sounds pretty inhumane. Yes, I would like a chicken with more white meat, but I don't want one with so much that it becomes cruel to the animal. My other chickens (heritage breeds) are happy until the last second of their life. I don't want a chicken who is miserable almost it's entire, albeit short, growth period. Don't assume someone's ignorant of the facts simply because they have a different opinion than you.
