Which chicken breeds have more white meat?

The title speaks for itself I think

I just ate a Java chicken for dinner and while it was great, it had very little white meat.

I believe the OP is referring to the fact that in confinement the CX grows muscle and doesn't grow the supporting organs/bones etc... But what the OP isn't realizing is that raised on pasture, or any of the non-confining methods of raising them, is a perfectly humane way to produce the desired traits. The irony here is the exact trait the OP wants is the reason the CX is so popular.

Wow, had no idea the reaction I would get with that statement. I MYSELF have raised Cornish x and even on pasture, which is where I raise my birds, they are not as active, they look miserable and they die in the heat because they're too lazy to go to shade or to the water while my other chickens are happily running around. Cornish x grow too fast and their bones and organs don't keep up. My cornish x have died of heart attacks and who knows what else when they absolutely should not have. I have to say that all this sounds pretty inhumane. Yes, I would like a chicken with more white meat, but I don't want one with so much that it becomes cruel to the animal. My other chickens (heritage breeds) are happy until the last second of their life. I don't want a chicken who is miserable almost it's entire, albeit short, growth period. Don't assume someone's ignorant of the facts simply because they have a different opinion than you.

well as this will be my first post in a very long time.. hello and nice to meet everyone.. but anyways hands down I go for the cornish cross as being a great meat bird .. dumb as they are you get great meat.. I once let a few get so big I had five plus inch drum sticks.. an the meat was still great.. although you need a large plastic milk crate to butcher at that size... and if you do not let them grow will fast I had a hen that laid an egg a day .. she got lucky and always hide on butchering days... but she laid a very large egg every day ... so she stayed on the egg crew..
