Which Chicken Breeds Sell Best?

I love this thread, thank you everyone for your insight and advice! Been mulling over a small-scale hatchery since we moved. Doing research and planning before I really pitch the idea to hubby. He knows I'm scheming and is looking the other way until I actually say "let's do this" 😂

I see you reacted positively to one of my earlier comments in this thread. First, thank you. Second, to close the loop - I did buy goats, I did not show (or attend) the local Faire, and am currently building bunny hutches (OK. Draw first, build second). Fortune favor your efforts, and all hopes your researh pans out for you.

Locally, fwiw, there seems to be no uptick for me (largely rural area) in livestock offered for sale this Holiday season. If anything, supply on the Craigslist market seems to have fallen slightly. But as I'm in a largely rural area of FL, its a small sample size.

Silkies and Australorps are my best sellers. Silkie chicks in the spring are my most profited. Also maybe breeds that are autosexing like welsummers, plymouth rock or cream legbars. I also sell leghornx to sex them through feather sexing
Hope this helps
