Which Chickens Tolerate Texas Heat?

We are looking to get three hens , but my husband is nervous about buying any of the "fluffy" or "showy" chickens because It gets so hot here in San Antonio we want interesting, friendly chickens that lay a decent amount of eggs and can tolerate hot temperatures. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Mediterranean breeds will all fit your area. Leghorns, Mincoras, Andalusians. They're pretty much all white egg layers, though, if that matters.

If you want interesting, check out the Turken/naked neck birds. They not only have naked necks, they have much fewer feathers on their bodies, so they'll be cooler.
