Do you have a lot of birds to treat?I didn’t end up getting any because I didn’t want to get the wrong one. I’ll grab the horse paste when I go into town next. What would the dosage be for full grown ducks and chickens?
Mucky butts can be from a number of things.I have 36 birds to treat. I’ve had my birds for 2 years and never treated them. I’ve moved once but otherwise they are on the same soil and it is often wet. I’ve seen a few with mucky butts lately
Sometimes in the south regular worming is called for.....but not so much up here.I’m glad to hear not everyone is jumping just to deworming them. I understand you don’t mean I shouldn’t I’ve just heard several people say I need to monthly and such.
Yes, ask your vet. Many won't even do a fecal on a bird.I’ll ask my vet. How would I go about gathering a devs sample? Should I get it from a few different birds or?
Often, depending on where you live and/or the worm burden that affects your flock dictates how often you need to deworm. In warmer climates, some find they need to deworm monthly, while others that live in cooler climates may only need to deworm once a year (or as needed).I’m glad to hear not everyone is jumping just to deworming them.
