Which end of the egg comes out first?

I apologize if you think this is a stupid question.

I *thought* I knew, until someone asked me this. And I realized I didn't really know for certain. I've even seen hens in the actual act of laying, but didn't pay close enough attention to notice which end comes out first?
The pointed end?

Or the rounded end?

I have watched them lay eggs alot, but now that you ask I am going to pay closer attention. That is a good question.

Yeah, which end is it????? I have taken pics of them laying an egg....I have practically crammed my head under their rears just to get a great view and I have no clue!!!!

The fat end is the end that's cracked when I get mine from the nest box and they've laid one on top of another.

Of course I also have a bad memory and tend to make stuff up.

Great picture! Totally awesome, thanks for asking the question - it was something I had not thought of but once you asked I realized I wondered the same thing.

Not like us humans - we push out the biggest and hardest part first! LOL

Normal eggs are laid large end first..Eggs layed point end first are actually abnormal.......
