I usually get some new chicks from the local feed store but for some reason they arent selling...

Which hatchery would you guys recommend?

meyer, mcmurry, ideal...

just want to go with the outfit with bet reputation...

I love McMurray!!! They're good about refunding DOAs and chicks that die shorty after you get them, and they have some really cool breeds.

What breed(s) are you looking to get? Lots of time only a few hatcheries carry a particular breed, limiting your choices.

I personally love Ideal and have great experiences with them. I started ordering from them because they are the closest major hatchery to me. I figured less shipping stress. It seems people have had good and bad with all the hatcheries. I would find out which is closest and see if they offer what you want. You can also look at Garden Watchdog on the Dave's Gardening website under poultry suppllies and get reviews of hatcheries.

Im in Central FLA...

Looking for some Marams

I have some RR and wouldlike to get a few more to mix my gens up...

Thanks for the help...

Ideal is great and They will shipp less than 25 .althought they are not a hatchery Sandhill is good also but you need a min of 25

My first and only time for chicks was Ideal. I am disappointed. SLW w/ single combs. CM's that clearly are not pure, Red? frizzles w/ another color clearly. Delawares that don't look pure. Order from Ideal again. I don't think so. I would try to find chicks local. If you can't find chicks maybe you can find hatching eggs.
I just thought that we all wouldn't recommend buying a puppy from a puppy mill, but have no problem buying chicks from chick mills.

Unless all you want are production birds. GC's, RIR's and the like.

I didn't expect show birds but they could have been pure.
