Hope the title makes sense...
3 out of my 5 hens have started laying this week. One of the other two is too young, and the older one just seems to not be ready yet.
I have 2 red sex links, and one that looks like an EE but has a single comb. (not a current picture)
Here are the 3 eggs I got today. Also, is there a reason that they all 3 lay them in the same spot? I have a big open nest box that's about 3 foot long. I plan on putting dividers up so maybe they won't be sitting on eachother.
The one on the top and the one on the bottom left I am pretty sure belong to the sex links. They've been laying regularly this week and those are the colors I've been getting. The hen shown above only laid one earlier in the week and it didn't have a shell. I was told that she would likely lay a white egg, so I can only assume that she laid the one on the bottom right.
My other 2 hens are EE's, so MAYBE I'll get a green or blue egg.
One more question: Sometimes the eggs have a reddish-brown streak on them. Is that just poop?
