Which is louder?

Which is more likely to annoy the neighbors?
I had a bantam rooster before and nobody complained. I want a standard but I'm a little worried.... will it basically be the same thing?

I would probably approach your immediate neighbors and ask them before getting another rooster. There is a possibility that the bantam did annoy but they still didn't complain.

As for the sound, I haven't had a bantam, but my Australorp roo is fairly loud, but his voice seems to fall off pretty quick. I was surprised to find out that my neighbor across the street (~350 feet from the coop/run) wasn't aware that I even had chickens. However, my landscape does aid in this due to the coop being set lower in the land than the other houses, and is surrounded by trees (thinking about adding even more Junipers for more year-round sound dampening).

What is your situation regarding your neighbors/chicken setup?
-how far is your coop from your neighbors?
-are your chickens among trees/bushes or out in the open?
-are you on good terms with your neighbors?

Standard & bantam crows are very similar, but standard will probably be a bit louder. Obviously make sure you can have roosters in your area no matter what, and talk to your neighbors about this. Depends more on the breed you plan on getting and the neighbors.

Personally I find smaller roosters that have shrill crows more annoying, even if they aren't quite as loud as a larger breed. All the larger roosters that I've heard crow have a deeper crow which is not as annoying to listen to.

I’ll take a rooster that doesnt crow.
