Which make better mums

I've got runners and black swede females out these 2 breeds which would be broody n sit on eggs ?(they all coming up to to 1 year old by the way , ) son wants to have ducklings but I don't want to buy incubator n want nature to take it's course has anyone got any tips on getting a gal broody

I think it is up to the duck. I have found that if I miss picking up eggs, seems like just the sight of three little eggs in a nest draws out the broodiness in my broodier runners.
