y were. She had 10 2-week old chicks she didnt want to put down. I know I got a deal here at 10 buck each but she couldnt tell me if they were svart or ayam cemani... she bought them from greenfire farm as ayam cemani but thought she got one or two svart also and cant tell the diffrence. Can anyone help me figure this one out. Also they are 8-9 weeks old in the pictures.

They look like Svarthöna
How can you tell? Also cant get a picture of it but the inside of the mouth is black. The only real difference I see in any of them is that 3 of them have more of a greenish back in the light. The other 7 have the green but also have a dark tint of purple.

Well thank you, I called the seller back and talked to her for a bit and she is willing to come out and go through them now that they are older to tell me what ones are svart and what ones are not. She says she only knows what they look like after 8 weeks. She is also going to help me with sexing them also. All turned out well, I'll be keeping all of them but will get a few bucks back for every svart seeing she listed them as ayam cemani

So verdict is in... 1 male svart, 2 female svart, one female svart/cemani cross, 3 Male cemani, 3 female cemani. Thank you all for your help. Happy the breed in them was caught sooner then later. I was close to just calling them all svart.

Also I was told at this age only the cemani will have a purple tint in sun light. The svart will show the green more in the back. Also all the svart will have a dark green tint in the mouth showing around week 9-10 were as the cemani will be black. Also while stretching the cemani will look like the svart but over all the svart will have a bit of a longer neck and will have a grey look to the fluff that has yet changed into feathers. Hope what I found out helps others out there.
