Which would you get and/or why? Maybe care tips or stories?

I am pretty positive snakes, mice, and rats won't fly here BUT I think I want them eventually lol

I guess I should maybe make a separate poll for small animal vs reptile vs bird then which one but i dont think i can make that many polls in one lol

Well I have a few of the critters on your list, gerbils, rabbits, and birds, parakeets and a parrot. I also have 2 robo hamsters which aren't on your list. No reptiles here.

How do you like those animals? I was thinking of gerbils or guinea pigs. I had a rabbit and loved him but I don't think I'll get another for a while. I've had a lot of parakeets over the years and loved them all but they're more expensive to set up than the others and louder lol I would like more eventually though. I've thought about making an aviary lol

And yeah, I thought about hamsters but then I read they need a really big cage and plus they don't seem as interactive as other small animals? Or am I wrong?

Btw I'm not sure if it was you or someone else I was talking to about the fish a while ago but they're all still doing well besides those initial two that died. But the other four are doing great. Except the grey one seems pretty shy? And doesn't really come out of hiding for food or seem to notice, I have to drop it in front of him then he will lol maybe i should stop doing that? He does seem to scavenge off the bottom later though and is the biggest. Maybe it's not even a goldfish lol

I was wondering about your fish. If you can try to get a picture of the gray one maybe I can identify it, maybe not, good luck though, fish are always moving.

My hamsters run on their wheels and sleep most of the day. The two brothers needed separating, even though some say they can stay together.

I got two male gerbils. They dig in their bedding, and nightly attempt to hop out. They never fight, and seem more aware of what's going on. They use a ceramic dish with sand as a toilet, so they are clean. They chew up all card board tubes, it's their job. I haven't tamed them but they would be nice pets if I did. They are in a 20 long aquarium, which is the smallest I would keep them in.

I plan to get a guinea pig down the road, gotta have dreams.

I would pick the guinea pigs or the gerbils if you want an interactive pet that lives a bit longer than say a rat or hamster. Like most critters, plan to keep them in something bigger for their emotional well being.

I'm sure it's probably just a more shy goldfish but I guess I'm hoping for something exotic

Gerbils seem like they might be a little fast to handle? Unless maybe I find a breeder. Guinea pigs are adorable and sweet, calm, etc. But seem a little more expensive to start and maintain, I.E. large cage/pen and then hay. And they take up way more floor space. But they are also adorable. But so are gerbils. So idk. :/
