I have 2 WCB polish in a pen with 2 GL polish. My Roos are GL and I would like to collect a few of the GL eggs for incubation. However, I have no real way of telling who is laying what egg and no place to put the WCB Polish to separate them. I CAN tell that two of them lay a rounder, white egg and two of them lay a slightly bigger, more elongated cream colored egg. Which do you think is laying which?

My advice? Watch them around laying time- its the only way to know who is laying which egg! Once you can familiarize yourself with each hens quirks and favorite laying spots, then you can ID each egg.

My two WCB polish hens lay slightly different eggs, at slightly different times, and in two different spots. One lays under the roosts (grrrr...dirty eggs) another lays in 'her' nest box. One of them is slightly darker and more 'cream' colored, the other is glossy white.

Polish lay white.

Well mine lay white and off-white eggs. I would try to watch where they lay, but they are in a tractor and I really can't get in to see what is going on. Plus I am either at work or building chicken tractors. There are 4 nest boxes and they all use the same two. I guess I will just hatch a couple and see which is which before I attempt to hatch a larger clutch.
