What about when it comes to hatching raising chicks?? I feel like I'd lean towards the Maran, over the BR or Orp, but wouldn't that turn all my blue eggs from the Wheatens and EEs?

are your wheaten marans mixed breed because i never heard of a wheaten maran or marans lay blue eggs i always say dark brown eggs ... it depends sometimes it can and sometimes it will stay the same and if you keep breeding your rooster to your ee its babies will weed out the blue egg gene is your ee laying ?? because sometimes ees can lay different color eggs because it depends what its crossed with

No, I have Blue Wheaten Ameracaunas that should lay a nice blue egg. I just wasn't sure if I keep my Maran (*IF* he truly turns out to be a rooster), will that affect the color of the eggs my Wheatens are laying or just the eggs their children lay?? I picked these particular breeds for the diversified egg basket of darks, lights and blues.

No, I have Blue Wheaten Ameracaunas that should lay a nice blue egg. i just never heard of a maran laying blue eggs thats all i had some ees but they never got the chance to lay for me i want to get some naked neck turkens they lay green eggs

Marans rooster will not affect the color of eggs hen is laying. If he father girl with blue egg hen ( like Wheaten Ameraucana) then that girl most likely will lay olive colored eggs.
