Which SMALL kitchen appliances do you use the most?UPDATED*New Pic Pg4

You definitely need a slow cooker! I don't have a KA brand, but the 2 I have hold 6 quarts and I LOVE it! It really comes in handy!

A food processor is also another "must have", especially if you have a lot of chopping or shredding. This really makes the job a whole lot quicker and easier. It's also a really big help during canning season!

Oh! And a FoodSaver is a definite MUST! I have saved so much $$$$ over the years with my Food Savers! I've been through 2 and am on my 3rd! I've wore them out to the point they just gave up! LOL. There are times I don't use it that much, but then there are times when it never leaves my counter and is never turned off, especially during harvesting season and if I've come across some great deals on meat at the local stores.

Hi,

You must have missed my post on page 4, where I described my experience with purchasing and using a slow cooker and even included a picture of it. I'm so glad you have given me some encouragement about my new purchase, though! As I described, I also didn't wind up with the KA slow cooker, due to terrible reviews. I purchased a Hamilton Beach instead.

I can definately use some new suggestions and aside from yourself, many others have recommended the FoodSaver. It's something that I didn't even think of!

I'm still not sure what else I would need, but a toaster/convection oven seems to be high up on the list.

Thanks for your help!

My slow cooker is a time saver,
I have used it from making applesauce
to cooking a roast. or a pot of stew,,
and my coffee Bean grinder is used everyday..

Nice slow cooker, NEIGHBOR...I am in Smithtown! I use my Crock Pot (newest model) all the time! It lets me cook stuff whenever I want with no extra thought. I don't put my veggies in right away most of the time to avoid them being overcooked, BUT I DO like overcooked potatoes and carrots.

We used our toaster oven EVERY SINGLE DAY until we bought a Maytag Gemini stove which has two ovens..the top open being a smaller size to replace our toaster oven. Now we use it even more often.

I used my steamer quite often until I bought those steaming bags. Now I can steam veggies in the microwave. We just bought a new microwave with the ability to sense how long to cook and it is VERY cool! Now the steamer is only used for rice, but it's kind of like you said...in the pantry, so it's "out of sight, out of mind." I bought all kinds of things we rarely use, too.

We actually love a Belgian waffle maker...but we had problems finding a reasonably priced one that didn't have issues. So, we have bitten the bullet and order the $200 Kitchen Aid. Argh. We have waffles one night a week, usually. The Kitchen Aid makes two at a time, perfect for my husband and myself.

So, it seems like you are doing very well. The most used small appliance in our kitchen is the small flat screen TV by the kitchen table. LOL

Hi,

So far it's been good but I only cooked two things, chicken with vegetables and gravy, and pasta sauce with sausage and meatballs. It didn't have a big burned ring around the inside edge like my old one did and the timer worked perfectly, shifting it to "Warm" when the time was over. I did read a couple of reviews that stated that it shut off for no apparent reason when it shouldn't have--didn't happen to me. I haven't used the probe yet so I have no idea how well that will work. I do love the handle on the cover, feels great in your hand. So far, so good!

Hello from Nesconset, can't get much closer than that! I'm glad I chose to purchase a crock pot as it does seem to be a very popular item and I have had good results so far.

I'm hoping my microwave (even though it's about ten years old already) never has to be replaced as it's built in over the range to save on counter space.

I'm still tossing around the idea of a toaster/convection oven, saw one by Breville (have their one-cup coffee maker and love it) that is large enough to be very versatile. I will have to do some reorganizing in the kitchen to make room if I get it.

Too funny, I also have a small flat screen TV in the dining area, which is in plain sight from the kitchen!

Oh, forgot to say. My toaster oven is a toaster/convection oven. Can also broil. Sometimes broil hot dogs in it for the kids. Nice to use for small meals -- especially in the summer when I don't want to make the house any warmer.

Oh..............can't live without a slow cooker!!
