Which starter feed?

The feed stores around here sell Purina feed. They sell every type of feed for your growning chicks. Start with Grow food and as Ridgerunner suggested earlier switch to Layer feed that is if your chicks are layers. About 18-20 weeks or when they start laying their first egg.

I plan on putting newspaper down over the pine bedding for the first full day.

Do I need to put sugar in their water? I think I read somewhere that 3 TBS per quart is what is needed for the first day home.

The feed at TSC says on the bag that there is no need for addition medication. I take it it's got the stuff for coccidiosla. What is that anyway?
