that thermostat sounds interesting. what do you call that one?

It is a Bi-metal thermostat. They are commonly used in kitchen appliances. Ex; Crock Pot, Dehydrator...etc. They are nifty little thermostats, and work great. My favorite part is that they don't require a new Wafer every year, or that they don't go out.

"or they don't go out". Amen. The last bad experience I had with a wafer, 72 guinea eggs got cooked that liked 1 day to hatch. The wafer went poo poo and temps went to 130 degrees f. Needless to say I don't trust wafers that much anymore...
