Lucky me got three roosters out of ten chicks. I cannot keep them all, so I need to decide which one. I bought them all in two's or three's so I have at least one hen for each breed.

But, what is the first rooster in this album? He was supposed to be a Blue Andalusion, but he looks like a mix. The two hens are a beautiful Blue and he has a lot more color and puffs on his cheeks.

The second one is a Brown Leghorn and the third is a Maran.

Thanks!

I'm not an expert on andalusians but he doesn't look right to me.
It depends on your purposes. Dark eggs in the offspring or super layers in the offspring. That Leghorn roo looks beautiful.

I agree, looks like an Easter Egger to me.

I would be a bit leery about the brown Leghorn cockerel. I've had both standard production white Leghorns and dark brown Leghorns, and the dark browns were pretty, but were terrible layers of only medium-sized eggs. I was very disappointed in them. Beautiful birds, though.

Thanks, I didn't even think of that one. I am leaning toward keeping the Maran to breed for the chocolate eggs.

I did have a couple of Rhode Islands die last year from the heat (San Diego). Does anyone know how well Marans do in a hot dry climate? Or, if the Brown Leghorn or Easter Eggs would fare better?

The first one is an Easter egger. The second one is probably one of the most handsome roosters I've seen, and I don't even like leghorns very much. I would keep the leghorn myself, can't get over how nice he looks. Though chocolate eggs would be nice and if I'm not mistaken brown leghorns don't lay that large of an egg or as often as others. Tough desicion for you :/

The Leghorn is absoulutely stunning, what a guy! But If you are being sensible then I guess the maran makes the most sense.
