I’ve had chickens for 10 years or so. I’ve always wanted some turkeys, tried poults twice and they died before being old enough to go out in the chicken yard. I have around 30 chickens, mostly bantam size and a pair of peacocks on about 1/3 acre. Wondering if palms or other heritage turkeys will fit in my flock and fit thru standard size automatic chicken doors.

Before you think about adding turkeys to a flock of chickens, make sure that blackhead is not an issue in your area.

Also make sure you have enough room for turkeys. Turkeys need lots more room than chickens can get away with.

Bringing this to life again. Had to rehome my peacocks because they kept visiting the neighbors and pooping on their new deck. Still wanting to know if anyone can tell me if a Royal palm turkey will fit thru a standard size automatic chicken door.

No way to know without knowing what the open dimensions are.
