which type of goose fly the most

I have 2 african geese that are about 3 months old and the smaller one flies...they both start out running and the smaller one (Elly) gets off the ground about 5 feet but not for very long. Will try to get a picture of this before she gets too heavy. Its fun to watch as long as she doesn't keep going but we have a large barn that is in the way, so this helps.

i think its all down to the runway

my garden is small in comparison only 25 metres long with 5 metres at the back taken up by the chicken coop

so 20 metres for them is not enough runway for them to get lift

they sure do try with the flapping and running but never make that lift

I have an Embden gander and a Toulouse goose they love to get in the driveway and play flap the wings and run it's take off time, but thats all they do so far they don't have lift off.

Mine do the same thing Miss Lydia, there runway has a small decline and i even run with them (silly me) but i flap my arms and we all go running, i haven't got any lift yet!! lol

Our ducks and geese have flying practice every morning. They get out of their pen, do a little wing flapping then run down the driveway. One of our Roen drakes can fly a few feet. The only goose to fly is our buff goose named Timmy. He is the least aerodynamic one of the bunch.
