which veggies , fruits and greenies do u give in the winter and in the summer?your top10?

The girls love milo in the winter mine are already fat so not too worried. The energy it gives them is very good. Just don't let your milo sprouts escape the kitchen that stuff takes over!

Spring/summer:
watermelon, cucumbers, berries, leftover salad greens, frozen corn on the cob, tomatoes.
Fall/Winter:
pumpkin, squash, whatever I sprout for them, scratch, corn, oatmeal,
All year long:
meal worms, whatever they forage, eggs, chicken, whatever leftovers I need to toss.

Thanks on the Milo. It is a major ingredient to horse sweet feed to keep them warm (goats also loved it) and I love sorghum molasses for me. So nutritious as far as sugars go. I wouldn't mind it taking over one corner of my yard, anything to choke out poison oak LOL. So BOSS as well. I don't know if hulled millet will grow, try it. I can get it un-hulled here in feed stores or pretty cheap in mid-eastern stores in large bags. Food grade I roast it slowly and then cook it. It is so wonderful either as a side or included in other dishes, can be used instead of rice once it is cooked. YUMMMM KASHA is another term for roasted millet. Roasted of course won't sprout. I know part has nothing to do with chickens..:old:ya:yesss: Old man they need an old woman..
