which way to set an Emu egg in the bator?

Hey folks

I will be receiving 4 Emu eggs this week..and I have a GQF Sportsman 1202 model bator..that has a Emu rack, but the eggs lay on their side in these racks...would I be better off coming up with something that will hold he Emu eggs pointy side down, like we do with all of our other eggs?

Just like in nature keep them on their sides and turn them as much as possible. I mark mine with an x and an o so I can be sure not to keep them on the same side on consecutive nights
Was trying to get a gqf 1536 for emu eggs anyone got one how do you like it?

well my bator has an autoturner in it...so I won't be marking with X or O....just setting them and letting them go.

Still want more opinions on the pointy end down or lay them on their sides.

I have an older model GQF and it has a set temperature, so I couldn't use it for them. My Dicky wouldn't keep the humidity that low no matter what I did, so I gave up and put them in the Hovabator. Wish the Silkies could sit these... hehe

Broke down and ordered a new 1536 sportsman 2 hours later the store refunded my money and said that the company doesn't make that unit anymore. they said they wold try to upgrade a 1200 series but i havent heard back from them yet

Try them. and try CraigsList......i have seen them for as low as $100. not many people into hatching ostrich and emu these days, i guess
