I'm starting my spring chick planning and making some decisions about what I'm going to order. Right now I have EEs, Marans, and Welsummers. I'm definitely going to replace my much-missed losses (Speckled Sussex and Dominique). But, I'm also considering adding a white egg layer and wondered which breeds would do OK in my mixed flock? They get supervised ranging but the new arrivals would need to tolerate being in a good-sized run on a regular basis.

I don't think it matters as long as they are standard sized... even then I don't think it matters so much. In the end, it comes down to individual and flock dynamics.
