Which would be better to keep as a rooster? In my breeding program (silkie)

Ok! For variety and breeding purposes who should i keep???:

•HEDWIG(BW Splash Roo)
Pros: gives frizzle babies and is handsome.
Con: red comb/wattle

I love my splashes. I really just want a variety but I'm getting over crowed with Roosters. The Red hasn't given me any babies yet so I want to see what he's got, but the BW gives gorgeous babies

So, according to the Standard of Perfection, which tells you how a certain breed should look, the first silkie is considered 'pet quality' since he doesn’t have the correct colors.

Silkies should have dark gray/black skin, and the comb and waddles should be black or a dark mulberry color.

The first one has pale skin and red comb and waddles, meaning his bloodline isn't pure or he's poor quality.

Yes I agree in the aspect of SOP for breed. Although his comb and wattlesnare discolored , the shape and look are decent.(imo) I'm not sure how long it would take to breed out the DQs

As an owner of a pink laying "araucana", I wouldn't be happy to have red combed offspring from what was sold me as "silkie".
If you are planning to breed and sell silkies, chose the right roo. If you want to breed fluffy mutts just for fun, then all is good.

Yes, I was disappointed when his comb turned red, since I bought pretty expensive eggs. I am seeing a lot of red combed silkies around especially in the mottled variety.
