Hello All,

I am new to the community here but not new to breeding. Recently I’ve stumbled across this gorgeous little white feathered chick out of about 50 Ayam Cemani Eggs. I’ve tried to find more info about white genes transferring but all I can find is possible feathering and spots, nothing about all white chicks. Currently the chick is a few days old and spunky as all hell lol. All black features, skin, feet, eyes etc., but hair is completely white. If anyone has stumbled across this I’d love to learn a little bit more.

Thanks :)

Could be a genetic mutation. Maybe the chick has a leucism, loss of pigment in the feathers but not in the eyes. If the eyes were blue or red and the skin wasn't black, it might have had albinism. It will be an excellent addition to your flock!

Normally I would agree, and initially I thought maybe it could be a bit of Albanism except that there wasn’t red eyes and most other Cemani features were present. However it pans out I’m right with ya, excited to add the little guy or gal to my flock :)

Is the inside of the mouth black or flesh colored? The toenails look white as well. Did all of the others turn out regular black?

How interesting! Maybe it’s a de novo mutation. :pop Definitely following.

That’s actually the only thing I haven’t looked at yet. The youngster was being a knucklehead and wouldn’t let me open it’s mouth lol but I’m gonna be a bit more aggressive about it later tonight. All the other chicks are black and this ones feet and toes are mostly black. I believe one or two toes might have the pink tips.

Haha! I understand. It’s always the little mean suckers who are the most interesting. I’m excited to see how it feathers out!
