I am new to this breed. I have 1 pair, they seem to be pretty nice birds, and are beautiful. Raised my roo from a chick, I then bought my hen, from the same guy last fall. I was told she was 2014 hatch from spring. No eggs yet! How old are they typically when they start to lay?
My birds do not have artificial lighting in the winter, but all my other birds have started laying fairly steady. She is being a hold out! I feed all birds the same ration of commercial feed, fresh brewers grain and corn for treats. Lots of water at all times. I am very anxious to get some eggs for my incubator.
