The neighbor man gave us 7 of his "white chickens" because they weren't getting along with his RIRs. I don't think he was feeding them enough protein or giving them enough space because after a day or two they settled right down and are very gentle and sweet. ANYWAY, they lay very light brown eggs, like light khaki colored. I've been trying to figure out what breed they are and can't seem to find anything and neighbor man was clueless. They're just plain ol' white chickens, no spots, no speckles-not really hefty enough to be a dual purpose breed but not scrawny by any means. Anybody got any ideas? They're GOOD layers now that they're healthy again even in this evil cold we've been having.
