White Chinese Goose Question

I have 6 white chinese geese. All are about 7 weeks old now. The hatchery sent me two extra, both males, which means I have 4 males and 2 females. (I was supposed to get 1 male and 3 female)

A: Am I going to have to send some males off? I have ducks and I know I couldn't keep that ratio of Drakes vs. Ducks. If so, will I have to get rid of 2 or 3? Also, what's the best thing to do with them? Take them to a local park where other geese live?

B: Do you need to clip the wings of white chinese geese?

Thanks in advance. I love these geese so far. They are so loving and full of personality, especially compared to my pekins.

Too many boys.

You can get more girls, find a home for at least 2 boys or send them to freezer camp. If you have enough space, you could fence a boys pad for them.

Please do not take them to the park (or any place) and let them go.

I have four - two males, two females - and have not had to clip their wings. Our wind gets to blowing fairly briskly here, and even running and flapping into the wind my small girls cannot get off the ground.

yea they fly like a rock. They might get excited and run around the yard but they never leave the ground.

Then they all get together and talk it over, like they are saying" Did you see that almost got off the ground."

geese are great
