White Cochin...cockerel?

Thanks little cuz for posting the pics for me. I m up loading some more of him. The reason why i say him is because his body structure is soooo much like my blue cochin roo. The bones on the back are pointed more than my pullets. My large cochin roo took forever to get his hackle feathers in and even crow.

! Cochins throw me off because they don't get the long tails. They just have...fluff. You said your rooster developed slowly, and my hen did too. She didn't get her comb/wattles until she was around 11 months old. Right after I had entered her in the fair, unfortunately. I'm guessing all Cochins develop slower then most breeds. The main thing that makes me think it might be a cockerel is the attitude you told me about. I really can't picture a pullet acting like that. Does the Blue Cochin's voice sound more like a male, or female to you?

That there is a pullet, I believe you were saying it was a roo? It is bulkier because thats how they are supposed to be, hatchery birds are bad examples of Cochins. Here is the body style that the males and females are supposed to have, this male could be better though but just to give you an example

check if he/she has spurs on its legs if it does its a male
and 6 months is about the time a cochin should start laying so pretty soon youll know for sure if it starts to lay

it has nothing to do with spurs, my cochins don't start getting spurs until they are 8 monthes, and for the first year they are so small most people can't even find them. It is a girl.

Thanks for all the replies. The body structure is what I needed to hear. The white ones came from a hatchery where as my blues came from private breeders. Great now I have more girls YAY
