Are these good to breed for meat? Standard weights at maturity are males-11 lbs. and hens-8 1/2 lbs.
 
They probably take a while to grow, but I wouldn't doubt it. They would probably be just as tasty as any other heritage breed

Well I know they are excellent setters and mothers and being white would be a plus I would think. They sure are calm and gentle birds might be hard putting them on the table.
 
It takes them 6 months + to get to that size, but there's no reason not to eat them. The feathered legs can make plucking take a bit longer I'd expect. They probably compare to most other "heritage" types that are not specifically bred for meat. I'm about to butcher a couple of bantam cochin roosters, 6 months old and they maybe weigh a couple pounds each live. Two of them might be a meal for one person once all that fluff comes off lol.
