Oh yeah finally got my Texas PT certification and inspector number this week. Not much good considering there is only one pharmaceutical that manufactures the antigen one batch annually and nation wide the only antigen is that which is in use. Back ordered until September. However once it hits the shelf anything I sell will be NPIP for both PT and AI free.

I knew there was a good reason I have a veterinarian in my family.

Suck about the antigen shortage right now.
I was actually going to buy some last week and found out there was none to buy!

We just got a few Buff Cornish from a hatchery, I'd wanted them for a cross-breeding project, but after having read and learned so much here, I think they'll be getting a coop of their own and becoming a project in themselves!

Ideal typically has very nice stock. Nicer than most. If you want to set up a breeding program with that stock I would suggest you obtain this book. Go to American Bantam Club to their online store and scroll until you find it. For $10 it's a steal.

Within 3-4 generations you should have some great stock if you practice what's in that book.

First opportunity to experience the scary expanse of the run. A very few went willingly, a lot more were pushed from behind by their curious coop mates and half decided after checking it out decided the coop was the safer option.

And yes, I've been happy with Ideal birds before and I'm thrilled with these. Now I wish I'd had the space to have ordered more. Sadly, I don't think I'll be ordering from them unless I move as I'm in a location where they take nearly 3 days to get to me and it was hard on the little guys. I have to say, the Cornish made it in surprisingly good shape, but the stress is a lot on a newborn.

I started a thread for them - I'm hoping someone else who has gotten some from Ideal posts on it.
