White Cornish: Building a Quality, Sustainable Flock for Meat and More.....

Yes, that is what I mean. If a chicken like that had good body type and vigor then I would be happy to have it.

As you say, it isn’t more difficult to breed for one thing or another. It is just different people breeding for different goals. My wife likes variety in feathers (which basically prevents me from ever breeding to the SOP). I want good production and I want my wife to be happy, so my breeding goals reflect that.

Not all Cornish are white. The laced varieties are beautiful.

Yup. Love my Darks. The females have lovely lacing.

The chick I thought would be white is showing color in the wings now. However it is MUCH more white on the tips than usual. I'm wondering if it is a colored sport instead of a Dark.

The pictures below are the what the average chick feathers look like.

An example of a poor line on the back creating a poor tail set angle that will not change when mature. If a drop of water started rolling down the back of the head it should be able to make it to the end of the tail and drop off. Clearly that would be impossible with this young cockerel. An early cull indicator.

Another one for the dinner table.
