White Dandruff?

I am a new Bantie owner. We have an Old English rooster and hen. I think this is molting time, and that is why I see white "dandruff" on the rooster's feathers. Since I don't know what lice looks like, is it from molting? P.S. - we love them!

As new feathers come in the shaft is covered in a waxy coating which they preen off and looks like flakes of dandruff - that could be what you are seeing. I used to sit and preen Ruth's feathers for her when she was sick and she still loves to get on my lap and have me preen her feathers. There were times, when she was getting new feathers, that there would be a big pile of white flakes that looked like snow.
