White discharge after laying

Is it normal for a chicken to have a white discharge after laying an egg? My silver wyandotte just laid an egg and I noticed a white discharge from her vent (I couldn’t get a picture). Is this normal? I haven’t noticed it before.

It could be vent gleet, my silkie had that once and I just had to wash it off.

Hard to say what it might be, don't panic, just keep and eye on things back there.
Are her eggs poopy?
Was there a lot of discharge or just a dribble?
Are the feathers under the vent soiled?

It was about the size of a nickel if you put it all together. Her vent is clear otherwise, feathers barely Poopy. Egg was clean. A couple of my other girls had pretty poopy butts that I had to trim their feathers.

Suggestions on why their butts may be like that? About once a week I give them a head of cabbage to nibble on, it’s usually gone in a day! I have 10 girls.

Do the poopy butts coincide with the cabbage ingestion?
Extra wet food(fruits and many vegs) can make for runny poops.

I’ll have to keep an eye on that. I won’t give them cabbage for a while and see how it goes. What else could I hang that wouldn’t cause that?

Pretty much....I free feed 20% flock raiser and toss some scratch grains daily.
I give some other stuff once in awhile.
