White dots?

I’ve noticed the last few days my pullets, especially my black Maran (it may just be easier to see though) have white dots on their feathers. The dots are different sizes and they are not moving from what I can see.
She’s also acting more subdued and spending more time than before just sitting on the perch. It’s also getting colder so maybe that is affecting her behavior. She has also been fluffing and pruning more than I remember but I am new and don’t know what “normal” pruning is. She’s definitely doing it more than the other two girls.

Any ideas of what this could be? The pictures aren’t the best but you can see the white dots. I am hoping they are specks of wood ash but maybe wishful thinking. Thank you!!

Preening.
Is she molting?
New pin feathers coming in have a sheathing around them, as the new feather grows out the bird preens that sheathing off leaving shiny/waxy flakes all around.
