Hey all,

I was looking into starting my own "White 'Dove' Release" business where I lived. I have found a white pigeon breeder near me, so that's covered. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there that found this business successful and how they trained their birds to come home. I've seen the advice online is to feed them using the "15-20 minute method" (only leaving their food in the loft for 15 to 20 minutes). I have an extremely busy schedule and I only have time to be out with my birds about 15 minutes around 6:30 am. I currently have a lot of chickens, ducks, goats, fancy pigeons, etc, etc...so it wouldn't break me to feed birds for that long in the morning. I'm away from my house until about 4 in the afternoon on days I'm running on time. Is this would be an ok time to call my birds back after they have been flying all day? Also, I have lost many birds (chicken and pigeons alike) to the early morning predators, especially raccoons, that prowl around my house. Does anyone do it differently? Thank you! :)

White 'dove' releases arent cruel. If they are actual doves it is. But now, lots do homing pigeons instead of doves. Homers fly home with their homing insyincts if properly trained before hand.

Ressie, it is possible to start and make money. Although it may require more than 15 min a day. Youll need to do training tosses where you take them 15 miles down the road and release them. Youll also need to lofts. One for breeders and one for flyers. It also may take a year or more to get enough youngsters to start. You cant fly old breeders/flyers due to the fact that they will return to their old loft. Hope this help!
I started googling this after I found the thread here are some articles you may want to read.

I have never thought about it the way these articles say before. I just want to be sure you are aware of these things.
