White earlobes?

I was recently told that if a chicken has white earlobes it is a sign of infection and they are sick? Is this true?

Some chickens have white earlobes. Do you mean they were red before and turned white?

No they have just developed but my chicken is only 14 weeks old and is still growing. I got really scared when I heard that the white earlobes means they are sick. Mine all seem very healthy but that statement made me very nervous.

Not too worry. If I remember right, white earlobes means they will lay white eggs, red earlobes, colored eggs.

I have a couple of hens with white earlobes that are laying brown eggs. They are healthy and happy. I think someone is misinformed or pulling your leg.

Most chickens with White Earlobes lay White Eggs

Most Chickens with Brown Earlobes lay Brown eggs.

There are some exceptions but that is the general 'rule'

I have 1 which has matured and her earlobes have gone white she is 7 months old
