White EE = Blue eggs.

I used to have a white EE with dark green legs, and she laid green eggs. She was beautiful. I'd love to have a blue layer. All of my EE's have laid green.

My EEs come from pure Ameraucana stock so they all have pea combs and lay blue eggs except for one who is half welsummer - she lays a olive green speckled egg. I really can't tell the Ameraucana eggs from the EEs otherwise. I raised some mixed chicks from them and it will be interesting to see what they lay. So far they all look like Ameraucana chicks, though one roo is an EE, one is pure Ameraucana and one EE/Minorca cross.

do the earlobe colors determine egg color on EEs like they do on other chickens? I'm sure the blue egg gene overrides somehow, but camparing green to blue is like brown egg to white egg. A green egg is really a blue egg with the brown "paint" from a brown egglayer. I'm wondering if that is why the white chickens would have the more blue as opposed to green eggs. My EEs have not started laying yet, but I'm guessing what color each will lay for fun!
